It feels like that week between Christmas and New Year when you have no idea what day/year/era you're in, except there's no leftover trifle. Or summer heat. Or general merriment. Lockdown is looking a little different for us all, but it's a juggle and, for some more than others, a struggle. Reach out to your friends and fam. Make new friends on the socials. This weekend we lost the sun in our family’s sol This weekend we lost the sun in our family’s solar system. It’s a monumental loss, made more painful under the current circumstances we’re in. Where we would naturally gravitate around family to celebrate the extraordinary life of a true multi-hyphenate, proud feminist, and loving matriarch, we reflect separately. It’s hard. And we aren’t the only family in this position. Please, stay home, wear a mask where needed, and just play by the rules so all of this can be over quickly and families can be together again. And to Sitty: thank you, thank you, thank you for planting trees so that we may enjoy the shade. Forever loved, admired and never forgotten. ❤️

Does anyone else collect business cards on their t Does anyone else collect business cards on their travels? I love collecting them as a visual diary of all the places I've visited, and I especially love cleaning out my wallet to find crumpled, yellowing cards I'd completely forgotten about. ⁠ ⁠ This morning, this one transported me to a food tour I did in Stockholm in August 2016. Fromageriet was the second stop we made in Hötorgshallen, one of the oldest food halls in the Swedish capital. There we met Dr Cheese, a tall, strong Swedish guy, whose real name isn't used by anyone - even his mother. Dr Cheese decides which varieties of cheese you'll eat. Luckily for us, the Västerbotten was delish - like a creamier version of a Parmesan. ⁠ ⁠ Faaaaar out, can't wait until our borders are all open again!

I used to fill pages with confusing streams of consciousness, but now I like to write with a bit of guidance so that I can read back on what I’ve written and take learnings from it. What does your home office look like? Here are 3 w What does your home office look like? Here are 3 ways you can redecorate to create a more productive space. ⁠ ⁠ 1. Set up in the most quiet (and, if possible, enclosed) space in your home. Even if you're a fan of background noise, working in a high-traffic area leaves you open to so many distractions. As most of us are living and working at home constantly, separating those spaces is more important now than ever. ⁠ ⁠ 2. Go green. Putting a few plants in your working space LITERALLY adds a breath of fresh air. Plus, they look pretty. ⁠ ⁠ 3. Declutter. And be VERY brutal about it. Those ornaments you thought you'd put up on the shelf to gaze at? Put them somewhere else. The pile of books you like to leave on your desk to keep you inspired? Shelve them. Stick to a couple of items that you turn to several times a day (so, pretty much just your computer and a notebook). (Also, the plants don't count.)⁠ ⁠ What's your office desk essential?⁠

That battle with self-doubt; a fear of being ‘caught out’ as underqualified; that nagging feeling that you *got lucky this time*. Faaaar out.⁠ ⁠ Imposter syndrome was first identified in high-achieving women (surprise, surprise) in a 1978 study by psychologists Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes. Recent studies demonstrate the prevalence of imposter syndrome among professionals in general, and in particular Millennials, which could be attributed to growing up among rapid technological advancement and increased societal pressures via social media and the subsequent strive for perfectionism. ⁠ ⁠ In short, imposter syndrome can be crippling to confidence and productivity. But, there’s a way to harness those feelings of inferiority into a positive force of change. Link in bio.
